The college baseball championships are in full swing! It seems like a good time to discuss the local college team - the Acadiana Cane Cutters. The Cane Cutters are part of the Texas Collegiate League. The Texas Collegiate League is a college wooden bat league that covers Texas and Louisiana. In addition to the Lafayette team there are the Brazos Valley Bombers, Victoria Generals, and Seguin River Monsters from Texas. The other Louisiana teams are the Baton Rouge Rougarou and the Lake Charles Gumbeaux Gators.
The Cane Cutters 2024 roster includes current college bseball players from Texas, Mississippi, Florida, and even the Dominican Republic!. They normally play for UL-L, LA Tech, UNO, SLU, Nicholls, Northwestern, Louisiana Christian University, BRCC, Bossier Parish CC, and several schools outside of Louisiana..
The Acadiana Cane Cutters play home games at Fabacher Field in Broussard. Fabacher Field has been upgraded with turf on the infield. It looks very nice! The Cane Cutters first home game will be Tuesday June 4th at 7PM. You should be there for opening night and check things out for yourself. If you don't want to sit all by yourself - join the Bailey's Cigar Room crew on the Right Field Deck!
Bailey's has reserved the entire deck for opening night (June 4th). This means that the Right Field Deck will be a cigar smoking area! Your $30 ticket get's you into the game and onto the Deck. Your ticket also gets you food, drink, and your first cigar! Get your tickets at Bailey's Cigar Room!
