Since shortly after we opened, people have been asking us about a house premium cigar. While many manufacturers make an unbanded premium cigar that they offer to shops (with a shop label), we wanted something unique. We discussed blends and options, but nothing seemed to fit. Until...
A few year's ago, Jaime and Gary went to ProCigar in the Dominican Republic. They took a day to visit the Artista factory in Tamboril. Carla Ortega set them up with Alfonso Reinoso who played host. He gave them a tour and then they sat to discuss many things. Eventually, the conversation turned to specialty premium cigars. Alfonso mentioned that Artista made private label premium cigars for several folks.
Everything seemed to be falling into place and it was decided that Artista would blend a premium cigar exclusive to Bailey's! After discussing the desired flavor profile, Alfonso disappeared and came back with a half-dozen cigars. "Try these when you get back." That's where things began!
It took over a year and four different blends, but Bailey's has a shop premium cigar. The wrapper is San Andres and the binder African Cameroon, while the filler is a blend of Corojo Viso, Columbian, Connecticut Boradleaf, and Artista's proprietary hybrid T13. Expect a slow burning, medium-full bodied smoke with an easy draw and unique flavor. We currently stock a Toro, Robusto, and Corona. Prices range from $5 to $7.50.
